Essential Camping Gifts For Women

Burt’s Bees Lip and Hand Balm

The mountains are beautiful, but boy they sure do dry out your hands and lips! We ALWAYS have chapstick with us at ALL times. Burt’s Bees products have scents. The lip blam has a tinted color to it and the hand creams are scented, but in a good way. If you don’t think that Burt’s Bees will be a good camping present, then try O’Keeffes Lip and Hand Balm. This stuff is amazing!

Dry Bag

Waterproof dry bag comes in 5 sizes and many colors. The 5L bag will hold a towel, flip flops, keys and your phone. Just the essentials for a day on the water. If you are wanting to pack a change of clothes and sun block, as well, then the 10L might be best. Adding anything else like snacks, water bottle and bug spray, I would recommend the 20L or larger.

Hydration backpack

The hydration backpack comes in 4 colors. It can carry up to 2L of water. There is even a small pouch in front to hold your keys, phone and some snacks.

Water Shoes

When I lived in Florida and would see people (Non-Floridians) come to the beach with water shoes, I thought that was the strangest thing. The sand is soft, why would someone need water shoes? Jokes on me. HAHA! I grew up getting my feet nipped at by fish, pinched by crabs and and stung by man-o-war. Looking back, yea, water shoes would have been good to have! I now live by alpine lakes and creeks. The ‘beach’ isn’t soft and there are rocks in the water. I recommend water shoes now. 😉 They allow for spontaneous walks in creeks to find treasures.

Microfiber Towel

Microfiber towels are not your ordinary beach towel you grabbed from Walmart. They are sand proof. Meaning that sand can’t get stuck to microfiber so it literally falls off the towel. They dry quick, which means no funky smell either! This towel has a two sided print and it comes with a little carrying bag. AND if you don’t want to store it in a bag, there is a loop in the middle of the towel for you to hang it up! Side Note- These towels are not Walmart cheap. They are pricey, for a towel.

Working Gloves

Here me out before you dismiss this gift. If you are at camp, chopping firewood or even bring it from the wood pile to the fire pit, how many splinters have you, (or the woman in your life) gotten? A pair of working gloves might help with splinters and dirty hands from setting up camp or messing with tight, slippery wet hoses. Just saying, these might be an essential camping gift and she might not even know it. 😉

Binoculars

We have an amazing pair of binoculars! But Amazon doesn’t sell them any more. Ours are 10×50 high power binoculars. These are better! They have a 20x magnification. If I can see a Grizzly Bear on a mountain with her cubs with 10x magnification, imagine the detail you can see with 20x magnification!

Bear Spray with Bell

Speaking of bears… you should ALWAYS have bear spray when you go hiking and camping. Well, maybe if you are in Florida, and are hiking in the Everglades, then maybe bears aren’t your main worry. But any backcountry hike, you need bear spray. Taking the dog out to go to the bathroom in the dark, you need bear spray. Tent camping and YOU need to go to the bathroom in the dark, you need bear spray. Or if you don’t like the idea of the spray, how about a bear bell. Just wear it on your Hydration Backpack or as a necklace. It’s made to be annoying and jingle while you walk. So you don’t sneak up on a bear. They can’t see well and it’s possible they won’t see you until you see them. And that’s too late.

Patio Mat

This is more for the RV owner and not a tent camper. Usually tent campers need a tarp for under the tent and for muddy boots. (Actually I haven’t been tent camping in a gazillion years, so tents could be made better and a nice outdoor mat might be a better option) But if the women you are shopping for is an RV (or tent) owner, then a nice outdoor patio mat would make a great camping gift for her. This one comes in several sizes and colors.

Unique Camping Gifts For Women

Rechargeable Hand Warmers

These are a necessity! Everyone who lives in the cold needs these. Or if you sit and watch your kiddo play hockey…you need this. If you have to leave your house in the cold, you need these. Ok, so not everyone gets as cold as I do, but I still think everyone needs this. There is a more expensive brand that has more reviews if you want to check out that brand.

Mosquito Repellent Bracelets

A bracelet that keeps the bugs off…sign me up! No more greasy bug spray! There is also a more ‘adult’ looking bracelet that might be a better option. Or if you are not sold on the bracelets then how about some essential oil spray. This might be a better gift for the lady in your life.

Extra Large Utility Tote Bag

How about an extra large tote to carry all her things in to go camping. Or it can be a grocery bag, or a beach bag, or a lake bag, or a… well you get the idea. The possibilities are endless with all the uses this super cute tote can have.

Retractable Portable Clothesline

We are a family of 5 and 1 hairy dog. We use a lot of towels, rags, hand towels and more rags. Sometimes we have wet clothes and shoes and bathing suits. There is only so much room to hang all that on your awning arms or the picnic table at camp. THIS IS A GAME CHANGER! It’s like bungee cords with clothes pins attached! It hooks from one tree to another or from a tree to your awning. Fantastic unique gift idea!

Funny Citronella Candles

This is a cute candle to put on the picnic table or near the campfire at camp. There are so many to choose from. But if you are looking for just a plain citronella candle, Coleman makes a good one.

Personalized Camping Flags

These are super cute to hang up once you set up camp. We see them all the time. Some are funny while some are personal and sweet.

Camping Christmas Ornaments

It’s never too early for Christmas ornaments! There are so many designs to choose from. When you are shopping, pay attention to the size of the ornament. Some might be the size of a gift tag, just warning ya.

Kitchen Camping Gifts For Women

Mountain Coffee Maker

Ok, so this really isn’t a coffee maker. It’s one of those coffee drips, that allow you to have pour over coffee. When you are boondocking or tent camping, you may not have electric to brew your morning cup of Joe. We bought this to make coffee. So we call pour over coffee, Mountain Coffee. It’s usually a bit stronger than coffee from your Keurig. If the coffee press your lady has isn’t working, try some Mountain Coffee. 😉

RTIC Coffee Mugs

We have several RTIC products. David and I both have an RTIC coffee mug that we use in our camper and at home. It’s the perfect size for our mini Keurig that we have in the camper and for our Mountain Coffee. They keep our coffee piping HOT. The coffee gets hotter as it sits in the mug. So much that we have to keep the lid off so we can eventually drink it. We HIGHLY recommend all their products.

Funny Wine Bottle Huggers

There are several funny wine bottle huggers to choose from. This one above is cute, but they have many others. Maybe add some funny wine glasses to go with it.

Camping Bottle Opener

How about a fun bottle opener to go with that wine hugger and wine glasses? Now you are making your own camping gift basket!

Picnic Basket

Wait… but there’s more. You could totally put a bottle of wine, the wine bottle hugger, some funny wine glasses and the camping bottle opener all in this picnic basket and badabing badaboom you have the perfect camping present for her! Or you could buy a super fancy picnic basket that is like a date in a box. Or they have these picnic basket backpacks too. Which might be more her style. So.many.options!

Camp Oven

We have a small camper that does NOT have an oven. In my house, the oven is like in the top 5 kitchen appliances I use DAILY! Yes my friend, I use the oven daily. I cook/bake A LOT. So when we go camping, no oven for us. We saw this oven on a youtube video of our favorite overlanders. They were making blueberry cake or bread (I can’t remember what was being baked) at camp. I fell in love with this oven. Now, it’s not cheap. And this brand has an even more expensive model of this oven. But if you are a baker like I am, and don’t have an oven in your camper, then maybe this is a great gift.

Cast Iron Dutch Oven

Maybe this camp oven is more her style! The classic Dutch oven. The one that witches use. Ok, I’m kidding, kinda. There are ssoo many recipes on Pinterest for Dutch ovens. They even have cookbooks and blogs to help you learn to cook with them. Don’t forget the tripod to hold the Dutch oven over the fire. Or you can just use the grill grate that is over your firepit, but whatever the tripod is cool. 😉

Camping Tea Kettle

This is something that we don’t have that we keep talking about getting, but still haven’t gotten yet. It would be so good to have when making Mountain Coffee. Or to pour over hot cocoa instead of making one cup at a time in the microwave. Less messy than boiling a pot of water and trying to pour that. (I totally have David do that, I can’t seem to pour liquid out of a pot, cup or anything without a spout and NOT make a mess.) Or if you have a tea drinker, this would make a great gift.

Collapsible Cookware

This brand is another one that we saw another overlander use. He cooked noodles in the pot, drained the water out and then use the pot as a large bowl to mix up his dinner in. This cookware brand is pretty popular in the overlanding world we’ve seen. They make several other items as well if you want to check them out.

Campfire Popcorn Popper

Ok, so technically this isn’t an indoor kitchen gadget, but how fun is this?! Don’t forget the popcorn kernels, butter and extra flavoring!

Pie Iron

One more outside cooking item. A pie iron! There are so many recipes online on what to stuff in your pie iron. They don’t just make bread pies anymore.

Clothing and Cozy Camping Gifts For Women

Camping Nightgown

Look how pretty this nightgown is! It looks so elegant. Definitely a great camping gift!

Funny Camping Shirts

These are always the best gifts. Who doesn’t want a funny camping shirt for their camping trip?

Ponytail Hat

If a camping shirt isn’t her style how about a camping hat? There is a good chance that her hair might not be washed so a super cute ponytail hat would help her out immensely!

Sun Shade Hat With Ponytail

Maybe a baseball cap isn’t her thing. How about a floppy sun hat with a ponytail hole?! This is amazing!

Knitted Ponytail Beanie

Since we are on the topic of ponytail hats… how about a ponytail beanie for her? These are super cute and have a very high rating!

Buff Headband

Super popular headbands. These also act as a neck warmer in the cooler months too. They are all the rage and most women love them. I wear glasses and I find these have too much material and make my glasses squish my head. But if the person you are buying for doesn’t have glasses, then great gift idea. Or maybe a good stocking stuffer…

Toe, Hand, & Body Warmer

I know above I mentioned a rechargeable hand warmer. But that might not be for everyone. Or maybe they are just going on a ski trip and live in Florida so that gift wouldn’t be practical. But the disposable toe, hand and foot warmers are gold. Warm gold you hold close to you and keep you warm. Ok maybe I am exaggerating a bit about the gold but they do work very well and work fast.

Kevu Waist Pack

Another name for these is Fanny Pack. Call them what you want, everyone is wearing them. Men, women, teens, kids… even dogs. These come is several colors. I’m sure you’ll find one that she’ll like.

Camping Slippers

Look how cute these are?! They come in 4 different styles and sizes. They are super soft and cozy. Best part…machine washable!

Camping Books For Women

Camping Journal

Who says camping journals are just for kids?! How else are we going to remember each campsite we go to?! I love to journal so this is easy for me. But writing down all the campsites at first seems daunting, but the practice does get easier with time. It’s a GREAT keepsake gift!

National Geographic Guide to The National Parks

There are ssoo many to choose from, books that is. You can’t go wrong when choosing a National Geographic book.

America’s Best Day Hikes

I know that not every camper is a hiker. I get that. But if the person you are buying for IS a hiker… then this would be a great camping gift!

Tent for Seven

Family adventure, road trips and camping… right up my ally! This is a fun quick read. But… this may make your tent camper buy an RV… 😉

The Camper’s Survival Guide

If the camper person in your life is a beginner, than this is the book for them. This is a handbook to help you with the outdoors. It’ll teach about packing, etiquette, wildlife, camping terminology, rules and regulations. They are sure to pick up some knowledge and knowhow from this handbook.

Knowing what to pack is super confusing. Planning for an RV camping trip can be daunting. If the person in your life is overwhelmed by the whole thing, I have the perfect gift for them. We have a camping planner that will help with all that worry and overwhelm. And it’s only $5.

The Best Tent Camping Guide

This books will help a newbie tent camper. The tent camper that always seems to forget something and the person that wants to expand camping past the summer months. No matter where you are in your tenting journey, this book will give you some nuggets of information.

Best Tent Camping

There are about 20 versions of this book for different states. I just chose Colorado because I live there. But they have Missouri, Florida, New York, Alabama, Tennessee and so on. Maybe this will help plan the next camping trip.

RV Camping Books

I have many many RV camping books. Most are about RV Full-Time living. Stephanie and Jeremy Puglisi (Creators of The RV Atlas) have many books about camping. I will link them all below as well as the ones that are pictured above…. as well as the ones that are on my Amazon wish list. 😉
