Essential Camping Gifts For Men

Emergency Survival Gear

There are many items in this waterproof box survival kit. To name a few… tungsten pen (this is the metal that David’s wedding ring is made out of), compass, small flashlight, two small screw drivers, spork (that is multifunctional), wire saw, knives, 5-in-1 survival rope bracelet (also known as a paracord bracelet) and fire starter. Super versatile items in a light weight waterproof case.

Survival First Aid Kit

This survival kit has also everything as the one above AS WELL AS first aid stuff too. If you want a survival kit and a first aid kit, this is the perfect one!

Atomic Bear Paracord Bracelet

The paracord bracelet is included in the survival kits above. BUT if you only want this, these are perfect!

Instant Cooling Towel

Instant cooling towels are remarkable! Get it wet, let it works its cooling magic and then BAM… it’s 30 degrees cooler! Put that towel around your neck as you set up or break down camp. Or even if you are mountain biking or hiking, you can use it to cool off. AND it’s machine washable! Total win!

Men’s Hiking Boots

The boys in our house have Timberland boots for hiking. They love them because they are grippy for climbing rooks and hiking trails that have loose gravel. ALSO for them being waterproof. My boys love to test how waterproof their boots are. We also love Columbia brand clothes and shoes in our house. My hiking shoes are from Columbia and have impressed me in their durability and waterproofness… I don’t think that is a real word.

But if you don’t like the price of Timberland’s, then Columbia has some boots that are highly rated and are cheaper. 😉

Men’s Sun Shade Hat

We have what we call our fishing hats or floppy hats. If we are going to be outside all day in the sun, we bring these hats. We have one kiddo that melts and burns in the sun. Ok, not really melts, but he burns very easy. This is a must for him. These hats are good for covering your neck and ears from the sun.

Baseball Hat

Maybe floppy sun hats aren’t his thing. So how about a nice outdoorsy hat? This might be a better camping gift idea.

Bear Spray and Horn

This one comes with both bear spray and a bear horn. Which I assume is more like a fog horn. It would be a good ideas to have the spray for camp and the horn for hikes and/or walking to the bathroom in the dark.

But if this is too expensive, I’d check out your local warehouse store. Our Costco was selling a 2 pack for $45. Or if you go to Yellowstone, you can rent some and not have to buy it. Lots of options!

Rechargeable Headlamp

David has been known to wear two headlamps because they never seem to be bright enough. This one… is super bright! And it’s rechargeable. You will be able to see about 1000 feet in front of you. You will certainly make it to the bathroom AND be able to find your way back. Or if you are in an RV, no more holding a flashlight and draining the black tank at the same time!

Unique Camping Gifts For Men

Monocular Telescope

Monocular high powered telescope… this hooks up to your phone. So not only can you show everyone around you what you are seeing through the lens but you can also video it as well. We saw a tour guide with a device like this in Yellowstone and we really loved the idea. But this one is much more affordable than the one she had. 😉

GMRS Radio

These are super convenient to have when you are out with a group of friends or family. Everyone can communicate with one another and not get the interference you’d have with a walkie talkie. The only time when this isn’t a good option is when you are out at an event, say Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, with 1000s of other people…all using a GMRS radio to communicate with.

Solar Cell Phone Charger

There are so many to choose from. Most come with a USB port and a built in flashlight. But there are some that are like solar panels that charge your phone. I’d do some research to see which ones would suit your needs the best.

RV Wifi Extender

Wifi extenders have a bad rap sometimes. Mainly because they appear difficult to install. But the do work to extend the wifi. People use all sorts of things to help maintain internet while at the campsite. I am not an expert, just a lady on the internet. You might benefit from some more research on the topic.

If you are looking for something more expensive because what you already have isn’t working then I’d check out WeBoost Drive Reach products. Lots of RVers have had great experiences with this product.

GoPro

We have a GoPro Hero8 Black … but with all those gadgets you see above. We LOVE it and use it a ton too. It even gets strapped to the bumper when we do YouTube videos. It gets very muddy at times and works great. We control it from David’s phone too. Great camera to have.

Garmin inReach Mini

Great gift for an overlander or a hunter. It’s great for safety. You can send and receive messages and send an SOS if needed. It has Bluetooth, water resistant and a battery life of 14 days.

GAIA GPS Membership

We use this app all the time. So much that we do have a paid membership that we use to track our trails, mark where we’ve camped and a gazillion other uses. There are a ton of layers that we use as well.

Kitchen Camping Gifts For Men

Chuck Box

Chuck Boxes are so cool. We use our camp stove on almost every day trip adventure we take. Then we also bring a tote that has everything else in it. Propane, pot with lid, spatula, silverware, paper plates, napkins, salt/pepper… the list goes on. WELL…. I also forget something every.single.time! With an amazing Chuck Box, I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t forget a thing! SO incredible convenient!

Camp Stove

We LOVE our camp stove. We use it almost every time we go on an adventure. I have recommended this one a lot. It all depends on what you need it to do. Amazon has a camp stove that has a toaster built it. Fancy.

Portable Smoker

I totally understand the people that go camping just for the food. That’s me. When we go camping, we don’t eat hot dogs. I make camp food, food specially for camping. Full-time RVers like to cook at camp and make good food. Portable smokers are like an oven to them. It’s a must. This particular one is kinda expensive. If you like the PitBoss brand they have one too that is comparable to the one above. But just as expensive. If you were thinking that a Weber would be just fine, we totally use that one at home. 😉

Portable Grill

I know that you can use the Weber that I mentioned above. But if you are thinking that you want something a little more convenient, then this is it. My dad had one for over 10 years and used it to tailgate at football games and at home. He and my brother have multiple grills for different types of cooking. This one lasted the longest.

Blackstone Grill

Or maybe a great men’s camping gift would be the famous Blackstone! Our camper came with one. My in-laws camper did not so they bought this one and keep it in the back of the truck. If you go on Pinterest and type in Blackstone, you’ll get a plethora of smash burger recipes. And on that note…

Smash Burger Grill Press

How about a grill press to create those mouth watering smash burgers?!

Blackstone Griddle Accessories Kit

We got an accessory kit for our Blackstone grill. It REALLY comes in handy. It has the right size spatula, a scrapper for getting all those goodies unstuck from the grill, tongs, water bottle to help with cleaning or you can use it for oil. Such a great kit to have!

Camp Table

If your RV didn’t come with an outdoor kitchen for your Blackstone, then maybe a camping table would be a great camping gift idea for him. We put our camp stove on ours when we are out on a day adventure. We do put something underneath the stove so the little legs don’t get stuck.

Portable Ice Maker

We have talked about getting one for a long time. We keeping thinking that we won’t use it as much. But then we run out of the ice cubes that we packed. Full-time RVers usually will have a Berkey and an ice maker in their RV. But that is because they live in it and buying bottled water and bags of ice isn’t cheap. If you camp as much as we do, an ice maker is something to think about.

RTIC Soft Cooler

We really like the RTIC brand coolers and mugs and cups and… ok, you get the point. This is a smaller one that you can throw a couple cans or bottles in and bring it with you the lake, pool, or neighbors campfire. Very convenient and much lighter than having to lug around the full size cooler.

Coffee Mug

As I said above, we really like the RTIC brand. We have had our coffee mugs for years. We take them camping with us too. They fit perfectly under the mini Keurig that we have. AND they keep the coffee pipping HOT!

Stanley Pour Over Set

And we also love the Stanley brand as well. We have the famous green Stanley thermos. It’s a brand that you know you can trust. Ok, anyway, the pour over coffee is what we call “Mountain Coffee”. Just because when we do pour over coffee it’s usually boondocking in the mountains (no electricity and can’t use the Keurig) and the coffee is a bit stronger. If you need a camping gift for dad, this might be a winner. I’m sure it’s a brand he can trust as well.

Life Straw Thermal Water Bottle

This might be more of a hiking gift for him, than a camping gift for him… but nonetheless, this is a cool gift. Life Straws are known for removing bacteria out of the water you drink through the straw. Incase you need water from a creek, stream, lake… in order to save you from dehydration. You can get the straw in a thermal water bottle to keep the water cold.

Outdoorsy Camping Gifts For Men

Firewood carrier

When you buy firewood from the camp host, it’s nice to have something to put the bundle in. AND if you have tiny helps around, this would be easy for them to carry for you. Or if you are able to gather firewood, this would be super useful.

Comfy Camp Chair

I don’t know why camp chairs have to be expensive and uncomfortable. We got a couple chairs with table attached when we bought our camper a few years ago. They aren’t that comfy though. Just convenient and free. We need comfy chairs that are relaxing. These are on my radar.

Propane Firepit

We have this one and it is awesome! We really really enjoy the convenience of the propane fire pit. Kind of like our gas fireplace as home, convenient. Yes we have roasted marshmallows over it and no it doesn’t taste like propane. 😉 Also if you are looking for a smaller propane tank for the firepit, this one fits the bill. Oh and don’t forget a hose adapter.

Anderson Levelers

Yes this is geared toward the RV owner. But this would make a great camping gift for dad. He might not have these fancy ones. Shoot he might still be using blocks! These are game changer. Dad needs them.

Thermacell Mosquito Repellent

I totally added this because David is a bug killing machine when we are camping. This is a great product that does work. Some things to note… it needs time to “warm up’. 15 minutes before you go outside turn it on and place it in a 20 foot vicinity to where you think you’ll be sitting. There are refill repellents that you’ll need to purchase. The repellents last 12 hours. But, it’s a great product

The Executioner Fly Killer Mosquito Swatter Racket

Another camping gift idea for him added on here because this is something David will love. I’m absolutely getting this for him for Christmas, shoot maybe his birthday… that’s coming up sooner. This would bring him great joy. Hitting a bug with a racket and watching it get zapped.

Camping Tool Gifts For Men

Work Gloves

David has had these gloves for years! He mainly does work on the Jeeps with them and occasional he brings them camping with us. They help with grip, keeping hands clean and many other uses at camp. Definitely something that is a practical camping gift.

Leatherman

My dad LOVED this tool. He said it’s the only handy tool anyone will ever need. Haha! He ALWAYS had it on him. It really did come in handy when anything needed a little extra help or repair or something wouldn’t open… If you presented him with a problem, he’d say “let me get my Leatherman.”

Axe

Axe… need I say more. Maybe this is a good camping gift for dad because his is super old, or the head fell off and he thinks that he’ll just “fix it.” 😉

Hatchet

Smaller and safer than an axe. The first one we bought (not this brand) totally broke on us at camp. The sweet man next to us let us use his. It was amazing.

Multitool Knife

I asked David what would be a great camping gift for a guy. He said a super cool knife. Dudes love to whip out a cool knife whenever possible.

Multitool Hatchet

What dude doesn’t want a super cool tool that does like 14 different things?

CARTMAN 148 Piece Automotive and Household Tool Set

Haha… What’s one more tool set????
