Best Adventure Books For Kids

This is a list of our favorite adventure books right now. There will be more! As we are always reading and exploring!

The Nature Adventure Book

This is such a great book that I’m even going to get it for my niece and nephew for Christmas. This is an activity book. It helps promote and fuel adventure. There are several crafts and projects in this book. We have already made a few and tested them! This is a basic activities book. Nothing in here is too difficult to complete.

The Magic and Mystery of Trees

This is a nature book about … you guessed it, trees. It talks about the different types of trees, what trees do in each season and parts of a tree. It also talks about the animals that assist in the growth of the forest and the animal habitats in the trees. And much much more.

Run Wild

Beautiful illustrations that capture the reader’s attention. The book has short sentences. One on each page. This truly brings the imagination to your children. This book brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Their imaginations went wild talking about what they thought was happening on each page. It made them want to chase rabbits and find slugs.

A Walk in the Forest

Similar to Run Wild. Beautiful illustrations on each page. Very few words to let loose your imagination. Another book that will make you want to play outside.

Explorers of the Wild

We love this book. It’s about a boy and a bear cub who find each other in the forest. They are scared at first then become friends. The pictures are very detailed and help you feel the story. Also makes you want a bear friend.

The Stick Book

Yes, this isn’t technically an adventure story book, but it’s still an adventure book. And what kid doesn’t love playing with a stick!? This one promotes outside adventure play. The book has so many ideas you can do with a stick!

The Hike

This one is my favorite. I put it last so I could gush over how much I love this book.

One year for Christmas I told my kids that we are gifting them a book box subscription… EACH! That they would receive a book every month and fun goodies to go along with the books. BUT… I was going to make everything. I would buy them a book but I would put everything together. So the book box won’t be coming in the mail. WELL…. I had no idea that they would love this idea so much. 3 years later…I’m still making these book boxes for them every month!!!!

One month, for my preschooler, I had come across this new book that had just come out. The cover of the book looked beautiful, so naturally, I got it. 😉 The illustrations are gorgeous. You can tell and feel that so much love went into making each page. The illustrations tell the story. We spend so much time talking about what we see on each page.

My little dude has learned so much from this book. My older kiddos will even listen while I’m reading this book. And it also helps that there is a fun little critter that is hiding on every page. We love books like that. 😉
